In Loving Memory of Bob Fergison (1933-2016)
Bob Fergison, landscape and figure painter, had lived in Wallowa County since 1989, desiring a change of pace from life in Portland & Seattle. “I came here because I wanted to quit drinking and had pretty much succeeded, but I felt a change of scenery couldn’t hurt.” He specialized in art renderings of boxers, horses, and nude figures.
He was a fine chef, a lover of jazz, and a dedicated partier whose wild gatherings in the 90’s were infamous in the county. His inspiration came from Cy Twombly, Mark Rothko, and Max Beckmann. “I’d just like to be remembered as someone who could relax and have fun with art.”
