The Wallowa Valley is a special place. Nestled in the midst of some of the most spectacular geography you’ll ever see are some wonderful towns with enormous charm. Surrounded by the breathtaking Wallowa mountain range of Northeast Oregon, it is often referred to as the “Little Switzerland of America,” It’s a one-of-a-kind place rich in history, art, recreation and agriculture.
The Wallowa is the traditional home of the Nimipu, “The People”, known as the Nez Perce. They lived a nomadic lifestyle between the mountains, valleys, and canyons of our region, spanning the Eagle Cap Wilderness, Hells Canyon, and the Zumwalt Prairie. Joseph, Oregon, where the Josephy Center is located, is for the outdoor enthusiast, the art connoisseur, the historian and of course the one who loves to shop! Joseph is sprinkled with specialty shops and galleries that won’t disappoint, world class fine art & foundries, local clothing, baked goods, chocolates, wines, and coffees, just to name a few.
We offer Business Memberships to local businesses, as both a way to support the Josephy Center and to feature your business on our Wallowa Valley page.
