The Wallowa is the traditional home of the Nimipu, “The People”, known as the Nez Perce. They lived a nomadic lifestyle between the mountains, valleys, and canyons of our region, spanning the Eagle Cap Wilderness, Hells Canyon, and the Zumwalt Prairie. Joseph, Oregon, where the Josephy Center is located, is for the outdoor enthusiast, the art connoisseur, the historian and of course the one who loves to shop! Fishtrap
A local nonprofit dedicated to clear thinking and good writing about the West. They host the annual, Summer Fishtrap program every July at Wallowa Lake, featuring some of the West's greatest writers.
