Much a-buzz about the upcoming “Collections!” exhibit – opening reception 7 p.m. on Sat., March 30th. A beaded heirloom quilt, Indian artifacts, African baskets, Old West items, antique dolls, bronze art, a wide range of paintings, a photography collection, early 20th C. framed calendars, dairy farm items, political buttons, ancient coins, Russian tapestries, vintage Wallowa County postcards and brochures, and much, much more have been offered for display! Still room for a few eclectic items – contact the Center to offer things from your own collection – or just come to the opening celebration to browse the unique and interesting displays!
Appraisers Terry and Kathy Maurer provided informal evaluations of more than 200 items – ranging from fine art to folk art. Highlights included a late 1800s Italian music box, early 20th C. bronzes, a 1878 surveyor’s book, a mid-1800s flower vase, and much, much more! Terry was especially delighted to appraise a silver cow creamer – which turned out to be a true piece from Tiffany’s.
