Connections: The People and The Place – A Community Exhibit of Roots & Culture

Connections: The People and The Place
A Community Exhibit of Roots & Culture
Exhibit Dates: January 6 – February 15, 2027
We are shaped by the people who raised us, the places we come from, and the traditions we carry forward.
Connections: The People and The Place is an open call to artists working in all genres to share work that reflects one’s background, culture, and lived experience. We invite you to reflect on questions such as: What and who has shaped you? Who are you today because of what has been poured into you? How do self-definition and experience connect to this place we now share?
This exhibit seeks to honor both the long-standing ties to this land and the varied paths that have brought people to Wallowa County. We welcome work that explores identity, memory, culture, belonging, and connection — including but not limited to ancestry, food traditions, handmade practices, personal histories, community stories, and contemporary interpretations of heritage. Our hope is to create a space that reflects the richness and complexity of community.
All mediums welcome. All experiences welcome. Open to all artists.
Subscribe to our newsletter here to be the first to know when the call to artists opens, and follow us on social media for updates throughout the year.
