Join this trio of experienced artists and learn to make beautiful one-of-a-kind collage papers using acrylic paints and a gel plate. Janis and Lorie will walk the class through a very fun and easy process of gel painting and printing. Even if you have done some Gel Painting before, they will teach you tips and tricks to add to your repertoire so that you get polished results with a simple process! Then Lizzie will demonstrate how to make a simple book decorated with your prints and how to embellish them with mark making and collage elements.

Lizzie calls herself a writist, aka writer and artist. Her wandering path as a conflicted writist (should I Write? Paint? Nap?) has meandered through publishing (as a designer with Better Homes & Gardens) to graphic design (proprietor of Eli-design) to studio arts (multiple states and countries) and back to publishing (as an author with Fawkes Press). And always the twain compete for time and creativity. She now lives in Moscow Idaho where she enjoys making art sparkle, books shine, and her granddaughter laugh. She is also enjoying a return to the easel and experimenting with water soluble oil paint. That jury is still out.
Janis Carper is a visual artist, songwriter, and musician living in Enterprise, Oregon for the past twenty-three years. She draws inspiration from nature, dark corners of old buildings, bright blue skies, dusty backroads, and the many shades and shapes of the human heart. She enjoys painting and creating with mixed media; collaging, and most recently, gel plate printing. When not making music or art, Janis is often found wandering and foraging in the Wallowa County forestlands with her big brown dog.
