The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture is thrilled to announce the return of Missoula Children’s Theatre to Wallowa County with the production of The Emperor’s New Clothes, adapted by Jim Caron and Matt Loehrke and Music and Lyrics by Jim Caron, Michael McGill, Greg Boris and Amy Ellis. The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for more than 40 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,200 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors. A tour team will arrive in Wallowa County on April 30 with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on The Emperor’s New Clothes …except the cast.
The show is rehearsed throughout the week (Mon-Thurs., 4pm-8:15pm with break) and two public performances will be presented on Friday, May 5 at 7pm and Saturday, May 6 at 3pm. All Missoula Children’s Theatre performances will be at the Wallowa School-Multi-Purpose Room.
The Josephy Center is bringing back the Missoula Children’s Theatre after the merge with the Wallowa Valley Arts Council in 2019 who sponsored the program in years past. Executive Director Cheryl Coughlan says, “last year we were able to bring MCT back for Hansel and Gretel, at Enterprise High School. It was a great re-introduction to the community and it made a positive impact on the students that participated and the families and community members that got to enjoy a live theatre experience.”
For more information, call Cheryl Coughlan at 541-432-0505 ext. 4444 or 5413981294 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
