Nez Perce Exhibit – Save the Date!

Opening Reception April 26th 12-4pm

The show will include traditional and contemporary art, in multiple genres, from weaving and beading to a new bronze sculpture by Doug Hyde. Doug gave us ‘etweyé·wise  (The Return), the fine bronze Nez Perce woman in our front yard. Phil Cash Cash, who recently curated the Sasquatch show at the High Desert Museum, and just completed a print residency at Crow’s Shadow, and Jacy Sohappy, who works at Crow’s Shadow and the Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland, and is a fine weaver and sewer of baskets and powwow wing dresses, will also have work in the show. More to come!
This exhibit entry is free and open to the public.

Vietnam veteran Doug Hyde, has been a sculptor for more than 40 years, received the Governors Arts Awards Artist of the Year Award earlier this year, in his Prescott Valley studio Friday May 25, 2018. Hyde is working on a Nez Perce woman statue that will be going to Joseph, Oregon and represents the return of the Nez Perce to the Wallawa Valley in northeastern Oregon. (Les Stukenberg/Courier)
