Zuly Freeborn
Chef and Co-Owner, Pier 303 Seafood Market
Originally from Texas, Zuly Freeborn brings bold flavors, deep roots, and rich traditions to every dish she creates. A proud Hispanic woman and lifelong food lover, she and her husband Mac own Pier 303 Seafood Market, where her love of food shines through in every bite. Zuly’s cooking celebrates culture, community, and the joy of gathering around a table. A mother of three (plus one beloved fur baby, Koda), she believes great food connects us all—and she’s honored to share that love in support of the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture.

Dionne Vali
Former Co-Owner of Vali’s Alpine Restaurant, Program Coordinator at the Josephy Center
Creativity has always been at the heart of Dionne Vali’s life. Inspired by her grandmother’s love of cooking and baking, she grew up blending artistry with flavor—designing birthday cakes and hand-drawn cards for her family. After working at Disneyland, where she met her husband Michael, Dionne spent twenty years running his family’s beloved restaurant before closing it on its 50th anniversary. Now at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, she’s rekindling her passion for the visual arts and helping inspire creativity throughout the community.

JoMarie Pitino
Former Co-Owner of The Gold Room With years of restaurant experience, JoMarie Pitino brings a passion for local ingredients and thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking to all she makes. She honed her skills at Portland’s Ava Gene’s, leading the pasta program for six years and deepening her respect for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. In Joseph, she and her partner Ross created the Gold Room, a beloved community-focused restaurant centered on naturally leavened, wood-fired pizzas and fresh, local flavors.
