Bob Fergison – Expressive Figures

Bob Fergison – Expressive Figures

Come welcome a life retrospective of longtime Wallowa County resident Bob Fergison, landscape and figure painter of nudes, horses, and boxers.

Opening Reception Sunday January 10th at 2 PM. This event will flow naturally into our open mic at 4 PM, and we encourage friends of Bob to offer music or poetry in his honor at this time. The show will run through Feb 17.

Women’s Music Showcase

The Josephy Center will partner with the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance to present a special evening of music featuring local women. The concert will round out the offerings at the Josephy Center’s Women’s Art exhibit this month.

Musicians include: Heidi Muller, Janis Carper, Carolyn Lochert, & Jennifer Hobbs! Saturday, March 26 at 7 PM.

Book Arts Class

Book Arts Class

During this one-day class students will create a distinctive leather travel journal that can be used for anything from writing to creating plein air watercolor sketches. We’ll look at the ways that sound structure and creative design elements can work together to make a book that will be sturdy enough to go anywhere.

The Wild Landscape of Eastern Oregon 2016

The Josephy Center is excited to bring back the Wild Landscape of Northeast Oregon Juried Exhibit for summer 2016. This is an open invitation for photographers to show your wild landscape of Northeast Oregon work at the Josephy Center for Arts & Culture in a Juried Prize Exhibit held August 6– September 22, 2016.

Deadline for artwork to be submitted is June 15, 2016. Artists are welcome to submit up to 5 images on this page.

Women’s Art Exhibit

In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ll be dedicating the month of March to a Women’s Art Exhibit. We will be showcasing 25 female artists from the northwest, and hosting numerous programs at Josephy on women’s issues in art and culture.

Please attend our opening reception Friday, February 26th at 7 PM – free and open to the public! Donations welcome. The exhibit will be up and running through March 29.
