Film Talk: Water in the Desert
September 27, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Andie Madsen will be presenting her film, “Water in the Desert,” at the Josephy Center. Wednesday September 27th @ 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. Entry by donation. The desert is in Morocco, and the film follows archeologists and contemporary Moroccans as they explore a very old way of moving water in hot, harsh climates.
Andie, who grew up here and once worked as an intern in the Josephy Library, is in the MFA program in film at Montana State University. She will talk some about that program, and show “Desert” (14 min.) and the short films “A Landlocked Ocean” (4 min.) by Riley Young and “Youth Salmon Protectors” (6 min.) by Leif Everson, both part of the Montana State University MFA program.
About Andie: Andie Madsen is a documentary filmmaker based in Bozeman, Montana. She was born in Oregon and raised in Wallowa County before completing her undergraduate studies at Portland State University and going on to her graduate studies in Science & Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University. Recently, Andie’s work has taken her to the United Kingdom, Finland, Morocco, and around the Rocky Mountain Region for documentary projects, contract work, and videography.
