During her time as an undergraduate student, she discovered the importance of storytelling in both art and human development. Now, she continues her practice by creating work in a variety of mediums (including printmaking, bookbinding, tattoo, and ceramics) that depict her lived experiences and their lasting effects. Focusing on themes of monotony, dependency, and self-realization, Shanlee creates a narrative that honors both personal and universal experiences.
