EL PLEIN AIR – THE WILD LANDSCAPE, NORTH COUNTRY
August 12 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm$120.00
SATURDAY AUGUST 12, 2023
Join Wallowa County’s premiere watercolor landscape painter Crystal Newton for a day of doing just that—El Plein Air painting in the North Country with watercolors. This adventure is for watercolorists of all levels and is an extension of the Wild Landscape exhibit.
Students are encouraged to bring their own watercolors, brushes and easel. We will also provide those supplies to those in need. As we get close to August 12, we’ll do a check on those items.
This is a day long event on location, potentially in a remote area. Students need to bring plenty of water, a bagged lunch, sunscreen, and other individual necessities as you see fit.
If this is your first outing El Plein Air, expect the unexpected: sun, lots of sun_maybe an umbrella, and or appropriate headwear, etc;. Also wind—this can be a tricky one which requires some ingenuity in being able to keep our paper, and other supplies where we want then to stay-clips and more clips. We will bring a bucket of clips for this exact reason. Rain! Now that can be a real buzzkill for almost any event. We will be bringing a large canopy, and hope to ascertain one or two more in between now and then. This time of year it is usually fairly hot, but you should still bring layers in case it suddenly cools down. The list goes on like that.
This event is going to be epic and we are looking forward to spending the day painting watercolors in the North Country with y’all. Registered students will be emailed a map with directions and other pertinent information two days before our outing. Ages 18 and over.
