Discover the Transformative Power of Art Therapy by Judy Wandschneider

June 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Tuesday 12-1pm

June 4th

“Discover the transformative power of art therapy” with retired mental health therapist, Judy Wandschneider, LCSW, who held a certificate in art therapy and used this modality to help clients…especially children… heal from trauma and promote their well being.

Judy practiced for over 30 years. Her Tuesday talk on June 4 will focus on the difference between making art and art therapy and power of both to help us make sense of our lives and bring joy.

This will be a brief introduction to art therapy and should be fun as well as educational. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how creativity can nurture the soul and inspire personal growth. Though no longer working with clients, Judy seeks to promote art therapy awareness and encourages others to pursue their own healing journey though art.

This event is free and open to the public! Donations welcome!

Later this week we will have a Clay Therapy Workshop!

Healing Vessels, Re:membering: Clay Therapy Workshop by Clementine Wright-Zenner

Healing Vessels were used in the late 20th century  in rituals enacted by healer diviners to transfer the spirits of illness or trauma into a ceramic pot.  We will be making our own Healing Vessels of earthenware and then fire them to create an alchemy of transformation into restoration and healing.

Our Mission:
The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture is a gathering place to celebrate, promote and inspire arts and culture for all Wallowa County residents and visitors.
