Our annual women's exhibit. All mediums were welcomed in our exploration of the powerful and transcendent idea of motherhood.
Youth, K-12, are invited to show one piece of artwork in this annual exhibit.
Fire Stories is a historic and contemporary exploration of wildfire in Northwest landscapes. A collection of 1930s panoramic photographs from fire lookout sites paired with modern replicates provides unique perspective.
The exhibit explores the Nez Perce Treaties of 1855 and 1863, and a “Proposed Reservation for the Roaming Nez Perce Indians in the Wallowa Valley in Oregon,” promulgated and then rescinded by President U.S. Grant executive orders.

Our 39th annual festival is the largest juried fine art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, featuring representational realism as well as contemporary art from the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
A special exhibit at Josephy featuring little works of any 2D or 3D mediums that fit into an imaginary 7” x 7”x 7” box.
This exhibit encourages artists to examine and reveal nature beyond the familiar, especially now in a rapidly changing world. Open through February 22.

What is a wild landscape? One thing that makes Eastern Oregon so special is untouched and undeveloped landscapes. The Wild Landscape exhibit will celebrate Imnaha's diverse and wild lands.
National Geographic Photo Camp Oregon is a photography learning experience, led by National Geographic Explorers and photographers Sara Hylton and Tailyr Irvine, focusing on the Wallowa Valley.

We are excited to announce that Josephy Center will be hosting Timber Culture a traveling exhibit and exploration into cultural heritage in the Pacific Northwest. The exhibit depicts the lives of loggers and their families drawn together from different cultures during the great migration, presenting an inclusive look at Oregon's multicultural logging communities.

Lisa Mackie is our 2019 printmaking residency award winner, based in New York. Lisa will be an Artist in Residence at Josephy Center from Mid-July through Mid-August, 2023. Her work will be on display in our main gallery July 27th- August 1st.

The Josephy Center is excited to bring you our first ever Livestock Art Show! We've invited local farmer and rancher artists to submit work to our call for farm and ranch animals and any scenes or depictions of farm and ranch life.
This art exhibit is a testament to the extraordinary resilience, creativity, and vision of female artists. It explores the multifaceted theme of celebrating female artists and their incredible journeys in the face of adversity while cultivating peace and overcoming injustice.
A "soft" unveiling of the major exhibit we are preparing for the State Capitol in Salem; Nez Perce in Oregon; Removal and Return. The small, colorful, and very dense exhibit will go to the Capitol later in the year.

We live in a time when conflict seems inevitable and achieving balance seems unlikely, from the smallest aspects of life to issues of major significance. It is challenging to have open dialogue if we assume society is polarized beyond return. Has it always been this way? Are our differences as deep as we imagine? How will we make the world a better place if we don’t work to find common ground? How can art-making help us and heal us as we engage in the process?

Heads and Hearts: The Landscape Through Nez Perce Eyes shows how Nimiipuu stories and art record past "signature" geologic events, some unknown to geologists, and enhance our understanding and appreciation of the Northwest’s dynamic landscape.
The Nimiipuu (Nez Perce ) people traditionally hold their landscape in deep reverence, understanding it as a hallowed elder being that provides spiritual sustenance as well as nourishment , medicines, and resources that are central to Nez Perce ways of life.

Watercolor artist Robin Coen and award-winning author Marina Richie have collaborated to create an exhibit of images and poetic narratives to send a message of compassion and solidarity with the natural world. Together we hope to inspire others to join us in preserving refugia-the wild heart of the Blue Mountains.
