This spring our new group will be organizing regular outings around Wallowa County. In the spirit of a brand new project, there will be a hands-on workshop for making blank canvases. Local amateur painter Tony Chiotti will demonstrate a few ways to make low cost canvas panels that are perfect for outdoor sketching.
We live in a time when conflict seems inevitable and achieving balance seems unlikely, from the smallest aspects of life to issues of major significance. It is challenging to have open dialogue if we assume society is polarized beyond return. Has it always been this way? Are our differences as deep as we imagine? How will we make the world a better place if we don’t work to find common ground? How can art-making help us and heal us as we engage in the process?
Join Roger Amerman in this workshop to learn the Construction of either a Small Medallion fashioned into a fringed neck piece with ornate thongs or a Small Ornate Partially Beaded Buckskin Neck Pouch. Workshop participants will learn the basics of applique and edge beading.
